Cease Striving

team-george

Hello There!!!

Every time I read the Biblical narrative about Jesus’ birth I’m reminded about the people who missed Christmas, in particular the Innkeeper.  He was simply too busy serving his numerous guests that he didn’t have time to stop and participate in what was taking place on his very property—the birth of the Most Glorious King of all time, Jesus the Christ.

Even some 2000 plus years later many people are still too caught up in all the hustle and bustle of life that they don’t stop long enough to enjoy the Lord’s Messiah.  I’m reminded of Psalm 46:10 which says “cease striving and know that I am God.”  The author of that Psalm realized full well that all of life is lived to bring glory to God.  But oftentimes we bring Him the most glory when we “cease striving” and simply bask in the glory of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me challenge you to spend some “cease striving” time during this Christmas Season by simply reflecting on the amazing love that the Father has poured on us by sending His only Son, Jesus of Nazareth.  Praise the Lord God for His indescribable gift!
